Hey Everybody!

Hey guys. A lot people have been commenting at me to make a blog for John and I. To keep everyone up to date of how everything is. For those of you have don't know John and I are engaged to be married on July 31st 2009! We are at our 9 month mark!! I know it sounds like a long engagement but seeing as our wedding will be bringing people over from PA we figured that having a wedding in the summer would work the best.

I am currently living in Cardiff CA, where as John is going to school in Orem, Ut. Yes there is a bit of a distance between us but that won't be for long!! Coming this January I will be moving back over to Utah to go to school and to be closer to John. I can't wait for my move!

As far as wedding plans; I have picked out my colors.... Dark Teal, Cream, with Burnt Orange accents. We have a Venue booked for the reception, Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas CA. I am still meeting with Caterers. It is still work in progress.

John and Camille,
You two are the first people that I've been a blogger to. WoW, what a cool thing to do. Now I'll be sure to know all the news just as it happens! We are so happy for you!

A couple of comments...

Why is John trying to choke you already, that usually comes closer to the wedding day.

A knee is always the best defense.

I already have my green tux with yellow ruffled shirt, yellow cumberbun (sp?)and white shoes reserved (keeping with the whole John Deere theme).

You should see the size of the yellow and red bow tie, actually reaches to each shoulder. And the green in the hat almost matches the green in the tux.

Also, remind me, did you decide that the men were going with or without socks?

Wanted to share a story with you both as you begin your Eternal journey together. You might have already heard it, but it is worth reading again and again.

THE TROUBLE TREE

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farm house had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire had caused him to miss an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pick-up truck refused to start.

As I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. When we arrived he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked to the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles; he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed by the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, they don't belong in the house with my wife and children. So, I just hang them on the tree when I come home in the evening and then I just pick them up again in the morning."

"Funny thing, though," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there ain't nearly as many as I remembered hanging there the night before."

John and Camille, remember to always have that love in your eyes for each other and your children, and a prayer of daily thanksgiving in your hearts.
